'Talking Cities', new series of The Edinburgh Lectures announced

16 Sep 2010

The 2010/11 series of The Edinburgh Lectures is entitled ‘Talking
Cities’
. Over the last few years the world’s population has tipped
from a rural to an urban society with more people now living and
working in cities than the countryside.

We ask the question; Do cities do more than generate economic income for the region and the nation?

The 19th Series of the Edinburgh Lectures will explore how cities also have the potential to provide solutions to our cultural, social and environmental challenges, so come to The Edinburgh Lectures to listen to a selection of influential thinkers talk and debate many of the issues around this fascinating subject.
