Details of The Tees Valley Giants - a collaborative project between Anish Kapoor and structural engineer Cecil Balmond, sited in Middlebrough, Stockton, Redcar, and Darlington - has been announced.The Guardian newspaper reports that The Tees Valley Giants will be the world's largest public art project, with its five gargantuan sculptural elements (at a cost of around £15 million) intended to regenerate the North East of England.

Icon for Oldham is a plan to provide a major new public artwork as part of a concerted campaign to raise the profile of the town and enhance its image locally, regionally and nationally. The project will also mark the principal vehicle route into Oldham, once the most important cotton manufacturing town in the world. Oldham is now re asserting its status in the North West Region and intends to restore a real sense of pride of place. The Roswell Museum and Art Center is seeking an artist (or team of artists) to create a permanent, outdoor commemorative sculpture to honor rocket pioneer Dr. Robert Hutchings Goddard. The sculpture will be situated prominently at the northeast corner of the Museum grounds near Dr. Goddard's original rocket launch tower, a structure that rises approximately 100 feet above the ground.
