Icon for Oldham is a plan to provide a major new public artwork as part of a concerted campaign to raise the profile of the town and enhance its image locally, regionally and nationally. The project will also mark the principal vehicle route into Oldham, once the most important cotton manufacturing town in the world. Oldham is now re asserting its status in the North West Region and intends to restore a real sense of pride of place.
