Public Art Commission - Fraserburgh

10 Nov 2011

Aberdeenshire Council is seeking an experienced artist-maker to design and create a permanent suspended sculptural work that will become a landmark feature of the main reception area of the brand new Sports and Community Centre at Fraserburgh.

A high calibre visual artist is required with a proven track record within the public sphere and a history of working alongside other design professionals.

This is an exciting opportunity to create a large feature art work during the construction of a building, working closely with an in-house design team to integrate the physical needs of the art work with the fabric of the building.

The Artist will look at the visualisation of the new building as a whole, taking into account its physical presence, its contextual relationship to place and environment and the towns cultural heritage and how the space functions for the users of the building.

Deadline: 02 December 2011.
