£30,000 is offered for an artwork to be located outside of the Grand Ocean development in Saltdean.

The funding is being provided by the developer, Explore Living. This funding is part of their planning conditions, through the Section 106 process.

The attractive Art Deco hotel has had several different owners since opening in 1938 and has now been converted into housing with four additional blocks now completed. The site consists of luxury apartments, one and two bed apartments and affordable housing. A doctor’s surgery is located at ground floor level.

The artwork must reflect the Art Deco architecture and heritage of the building and be robust enough to withstand the high winds experienced in the area.

The deadline for expressions of interest is 5pm on 11 November 2011.
