Open Call Residency Sils/Embassy

Sils Project Space has joined forces with The Embassy Gallery in Edinburgh to create a new residency exchange programme, open to emerging-level artists.
They are seeking a talented, Netherlands-based artist to take part in a 4 week residency, promoted and accommodated by The Embassy Gallery during the period of January and February 2011.
During this period Sils will also act as the host to an artist of The Embassy Gallery???s choosing.
The residency at The Embassy Gallery will start on the 25th of January 2011 and conclude with a solo exhibition by the chosen artist in their allotted venue.
Both galleries will provide the following support:
- Artist fee
- Accommodation
- Working studio/space
- Return flights
- Presentation of the work in form of artist talks/workshops/studio visits
This opportunity has been created in order to offer time, space and financial assistance to artists looking to develop their own independent projects in a new and challenging context, with the
potential of collaboration in the local artist community.
The two organisations will provide visibility for the exhibition in the form of press promotion and website advertising and will also assist in the creation of an accompanying publication.
Deadline for applicants is Friday the 10th of December 2010 at 5pm.
Selected applicants will be notified by the 17th of December.
