Open Call for Palestinian Visual Artists

The Delfina Foundation and A. M. Qattan Foundation are partnering to offer a visual artist a 6-week residency in London from 10th May to 20th June 2011.

They are seeking applications from mid-career Palestinian artists living and working in the West Bank, Gaza Strip or inside the Green Line.

The selected artist will be provided with:

  • accommodation and a shared studio space in London;
  • an enabling bursary to cover travel and the basic costs of living in London;
  • personal and professional support during the residency; and
  • bespoke opportunities for professional development.

The ideal candidate will be:

  • a mid-career artist, defined as someone with regional exhibition experience but little or limited international experience;
  • seeking a career defining opportunity to research and develop a bold, seminal and innovative artistic project;
  • able to demonstrate achievement or great potential in visually articulating ground-breaking and critically engaged ideas and concepts in an innovative way;
  • able to demonstrate how the experience of an international residency in London may benefit their practice and career development;
  • able to demonstrate basic English proficiency; and
  • available from 10th May to 20th June 2011, as these dates are not flexible.

Demonstrable artistic quality and development potential will be key selection criteria.
