Legacy Trust UK, which was set up to build a lasting legacy from the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, has announced the four winning projects in its ‘Community Celebrations’ programme. In Scotland, *NVA*’s ‘Speed of Light’ will be a coming together of public art and sport, set to take place on Arthur’s Seat during the 2012 Edinburgh International Festival. Thousands of amateur sports enthusiasts of all levels of ability and mobility, along with professional athletes, will be invited to help in the creation of the work.

The three-week presentation will promote innovative energy conservation technology and also show how public art and sport can be presented in a new and creative way. Participants will wear specially designed light-generating kits, which change colour depending on the movement and pace of the wearers.
