Two opportunities are available through the Creative Scotland funded NHS Forth Valley pARTners project for a Visual Artist/Photographer in Residence and a Media/Radio Artist in Residence.

NHS Forth Valley Media/Radio Artist in Residence

The aim of the residency is to develop digital and radio content with people experiencing mental health problems in Forth Valley Royal Hospital’s mental health unit and work with hospital broadcaster Radio Royal in its new studios, to produce, broadcast and/or webcast art and media programmes and content to Forth Valley Royal’s bedside monitors.

The artist will spend 50% of the residency developing their own practice.

The residency is expected to take place over 18 months between September 2011 and March 2013 (approximately 5 days pcm)

Fee: £13,500 including travel expenses

Residency base: Forth Valley Royal Hospital, Larbert, Near Falkirk, Scotland

Visual Artist/Photographer in Residence

The main aim of the residency is to develop a visual arts/photography programme and collaborative workshops with people experiencing mental health problems at Reachout With Arts in Mind, a voluntary arts project based in Alloa, and NHS Forth Valley’s mental health unit at Clackmannanshire Community Healthcare Centre (CCHC) in Sauchie near Alloa.

The artist will spend 50% of the residency developing their own practice.

The residency is expected to last 18 months but could be extended to up to two years (approximately 10 days pcm).

Fee: £27, 000 including travel expenses

Residency base: Reachout With Arts In Mind, Alloa

Artlink Central, the arts service provider for NHS Forth Valley, and clinical staff from the health board’s Arts Therapies team will provide practical day to day support, guidance and advice to both artists in residence.
