Marshbrook Public Art Commission: Telford, Telford & Wrekin Council

13 Jan 2012

The aim of this commission is to enhance a sense of place and community through the creation of a site specific sculpture.

Morris Homes are constructing a midscale development of new houses in Muxton, Telford. £15,000 has been allocated for the design, production and instillation of a piece of public art for the site. The development backs onto Granville Country Park. The completed work will act as a link between two distinct environments and seek to enhance the landscaping and housing within the project. The artwork created should celebrate the history of the wider area as well as recent developments. They are looking to give artists the freedom to creatively explore the opportunity created by the site. Artists may choose to involve the local people in design and development, but this is not essential. They anticipate some consultation with regards the proposed design and the work being completed by the end of June 2012.

Deadline for submissions of interest: Friday 27th January 5pm.
