Market Gallery Seeks New Committee Members

Market Gallery is looking for proactive, enthusiastic people with an interest in visual arts to join their committee and be involved in the development of their artistic programme.
This is an opportunity to gain professional experience in the running of a contemporary art gallery. Committee activities include developing a yearly programme of exhibitions and events; completion of fundraising applications and research into new funding opportunities; artist liaison and project coordination; bringing quality contemporary art to the east end of Glasgow as well as creating links between Glasgow and the international art community.
Working as part of the Market Gallery committee is both challenging and fulfilling, providing opportunities for artistic expression, involvement in community initiatives, personal and professional development within the creative industries.
You do not have to come from a fine art background to be on the committee. As long as you have a vested interest in the arts and have a professional and motivated attitude this position can give you the experience to move on in your chosen career path.
Applicants should be able to attend one committee meeting every Monday evening at 6.30pm as well as being available to work in the gallery one day a week between Thursday and Sunday. The Comittee ask for a minimum of one year’s commitment and that you are out with full time education.
