ICG 2011 Legacy Public Artwork Project

Public artwork project will form part of a raft of physical legacy projects initiated on behalf of the 45th International Children’s Games, recently held in Lanarkshire. The artwork should reflect the spirit of the games movement and its recent success in Lanarkshire. The work should enhance the identified location between North and South Lanarkshire at a pedestrian bridge that crosses the river Clyde within Strathclyde Country Park.
The successful artist appointed will be able to demonstrate the following essential criteria:
- Qualified professional artist with a track record of activity within his/her specialism
- Experience of facilitating community involvement including planning and delivering relevant workshop programmes
- Self motivated, good organisational skills, skilled communicator
- Ability to deliver a project to completion within a defined timescale and budget
Artists wishing to be considered for this project should submit, in the first instance, an up to date CV indicating relevant experience with a strong focus on community involvement, visual examples [a maximum of 3] of previous work and commissions.

Artists selected from the initial expressions of interest will be invited to an interview on 3 October where they should be prepared to do a short presentaion and interview giving an overview of their work and their vision for this particular project.
Total funding of £20,000 has generously been provided by Balfour Beattie Workspace for this project. Artist fee is £3000.
