Highland Public Art Strategy

24 Jun 2010

Inverness and the Highlands have increasingly been attracting attention for their innovative approaches to art in the public realm. In light of many diverse and imaginative projects (including Centre for Health Science, Re-Imagining the Centre, Eden Court, Ness Islands and Timespan), we now need to harness support and evidence of what has been achieved to date, and develop a co-ordinated approach for the future.

Highland Council is seeking professional expertise to draw up a Public Art Strategy for the Highlands that reflects this unique context. The process will involved drawing upon recent and current projects, identifying strengths and areas of best practice. The strategy will be prepared to inform the Council???s vision for the future.

The final document should support innovation and provide a practical framework to enable future projects in the Highlands to evolve successfully.

A fee of up to £8000 is available to undertake research, liaise with numerous groups & communities, and work closely with project staff. This fee includes travel, and all other related expenses.
