Ginkgo Projects looking for an artist/designer
24 Jul 2011
Ginkgo Projects are looking for an artist/designer to work on a major commission for the New South Glasgow Hospitals.
The New South Glasgow Hospitals form the keystone within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde’s (NHSGGC) Modernisation Strategy. This reprovisioning is leading the way in excellent, modern healthcare provision for Scotland. A therapeutic design and art programme has been produced by Ginkgo Projects Ltd. which seeks to provide innovative design and art led projects that will enrich the experience of staying, visiting and working in the new hospitals.
Inside / Outside Shelter / Play forms a key creative opportunity to develop strategic landmarks within the internal and external spaces of the campus. This commission is the for the scheme design (RIBA stage D) of three park pavilions, two bicycle shelters and three play pods. Should the designs be approved it is expected that the designer/artist will be commissioned to implement the design proposals.
Expressions of interest are invited from individuals or teams of artists/designers to work collaboratively with the project team to design, fabricate and install imaginative spaces that are integrated into the wider hospital environment.
Approximate total value of the installed work: £220,000 ex vat.
