Creative Scotland is Here
6 Jul 2010
The Scottish Arts Council has now become Creative Scotland. Although there will be a transition phase during which the handover will be completed, formally at least Creative Scotland is finally with us.
PAR+RS will be keeping you up to date on the situation, including posting updates on funding streams and deadlines as we learn more about them.
For now, check out www.creativescotland.com and bear in mind that currently you can still apply for funding using the Scottish Arts Council’s forms and guidelines, which are available here: http://www.scottisharts.org.uk/1/funding.aspx
As the changeover gathers pace, we anticipate that Creative Scotland’s own funding and investment strategies will come into force, although we don’t yet have an anticipated date for this.
ABOUT CREATIVE SCOTLAND
Here’s how Creative Scotland describes itself:
“Creative Scotland is the new national leader for Scotland???s arts, screen and creative industries. It???s our job to help Scotland???s creativity shine at home and abroad.
We will invest in talented people and exciting ideas, develop the creative industries and champion everything that???s good about Scottish creativity.
Scotland boasts an incredible range of talent, from award-winning directors and writers to widely recognized actors and internationally renowned architects and digital companies. As a result of the wealth of indigenous talent, Scotland produces a huge volume of home-grown productions and products each year.
We think Scotland???s arts, culture and creative industries are worth shouting about. We???ll lead the shouting."
