Free place for an official Public Art Summer School blogger….
Are you a blogger and interested in the chance to be involved in an intensive and productive week-long experience of thinking, talking and making public art? Then Collective want to hear from you!
Collective are looking for new voices to be involved in and comment on our Public Art Summer school; Mon 1 – Fri 5 August 2011, 10am – 5pm, in exchange for a free place on the programme.
The Summer School is an in depth experience which is related to our project ‘The indirect exchange of uncertain value’ at Fettes College, Edinburgh. This project is a Collective offsite project developed with Joanne Tatham & Tom O’Sullivan. The project presents a major new work by Joanne Tatham & Tom O’Sullivan alongside commissions by Chris Evans and Elizabeth Price.
The Summer school also includes entry to our Symposium ‘The indirect exchange of uncertain value: The performance of public art’ on Friday 5 August 2011 10:30am – 6:30pm at Fettes College. Collective’s festival symposium at Fettes College marks the opening of this major new project.
We are offering a full day programme with all food provided. Speakers include Vito Acconci, Fiona Jardine, Elizabeth Price and Owen Hatherley. A performance by Chris Evans; a poetry reading by Tom Leonard and tours of Fettes.
To apply please send a 300word blog on anything you are passionate about critical or otherwise relating to contemporary Public Art to geraldineheany@collectivegallery.net by 12pm noon Thursday 28th July.
To be eligible you must be able to attend the entire Summer School and commit to at least one blog entry per day on Collective’s website.
