The Transgression Score

Audition to take place on the 25th of September at 10.30 at The Tramway in Glasgow.

Angus Balbernie & Norman Douglas are looking for Dancers, Performers and Musicians for this new collaborational project taking place at The Work Room which is based at The Tramway, Glasgow from Nov 1-13, 2010.

This initial collaboration between Angus Balbernie and Norman Douglas will explore what is shared. and what is radically different in the separate approaches of these two choreographers and directors. Each artist will use premeditated movement from their current repertoires, and/or newly devised material created by the participants, to explore the notion of what it takes to both achieve any centripetal existence between two choreographers whose works and movement language come from the extremities of differential borders, physiological pathways, and different forms of engagement through image and language.

Can they both celebrate and transgress these borders to lead towards a conclusive and fundamental exchange of ideas?

The project would also like to include various musicians who will offer their own trajectories within the space that is set up by both Angus and Norman allowing them to enter into the work at any given time to confront, engage and respond to the experience with no formality of genre, tempo, or time signature, or relying on scores from their past repertoire, but on their transgression!

Project Information

The project will take place in November 2010 for two weeks, 1st until the 13th Nov.

The project directors are looking to use 12 dancers and eight musician???s for this experiment.

After two weeks of studio time a performance will be presented to an invited public.

All participants involved must have at least three years professional experience.

The conclusion will be staged at The Work Room, Tramway.

All participants who take part will be involved in the future work where possible, if and when the work moves forward to the next conclusion.
