Arts projects wanted for SURF Awards 2011

15 Jul 2011

The SURF Awards for Best Practice in Community Regeneration is now in its 13th year. This is a prestigious annual awards process which recognises and promotes best practice in regeneration in Scotland. The SURF Awards is supported by the Scottish Government, and independently judged by a panel of 16 representatives drawn from national organisations, including Creative Scotland, and community groups.

They are keen that projects which have used arts in regeneration are celebrated and that their success has a wider platform in Scotland and further afield. Previous SURF Award winners have used arts as part of their portfolio approach to regeneration. Details of previous shortlisted and winners can be seen on the SURF website.

If you are aware of a project or initiative that you believe deserves particular recognition, please consider nominating it for a 2011 SURF Award in one of four categories:

  • People
  • Place
  • Partnership
  • Employability for All

The key dates for the applications process are:

  • Monday 20th June 2011: Opening date for applications
  • Monday 12th September 2011: Closing date for applications
  • Thursday 8th December 2011: SURF Award certificates are presented at a celebratory dinner ceremony in Glasgow

How to apply:
The application process is simple and straightforward, requiring only the completion of a short application form and submission of a 2-page project description.

Further information on the entry criteria and the application process for the 2011 SURF Awards is available for download from the SURF website.
