Artist Opportunity: ...three walls on wednesdays...
27 Sep 2010
Submission of work for 3 /// 3
In order to accommodate as many artists as possible each artist, or collaboration, will have the opportunity to exhibit their work during two weeks, one day a week for eight hours each day. Detailed accounts of the public’s reaction and interaction with the displayed art and of the location of the walls will be made available in 3 /// 3’s website. The 150 word detailed paragraph of the artist project and the contact information or website will also be included in 3 /// 3’s website.
Things to consider:
The walls are wooden, white, and the available space to place the artwork is 160 × 168 cm (roughly 5 × 5.2 ft.). Art shall fit within the dimensions of the walls and it can also go around them; art shall be, with some exceptions, ephemeral, meaning the work must be created with the idea that after its display it will be discarded, recycled or donated. Please note that Blanka is willing to carry out certain actions and become an active participant in your proposed project if needed.
Artists shall pay close attention to the nature of 3 /// 3, creative mobile walls, when deciding what materials to use for their project. Proposed project must not be too heavy.
Through the documentation of each selected project, every two-three months 3 /// 3 will invite a guest curator/writer to discuss and frame the projects presented.
Participating artists will receive a CD with visual documentation of their project in Athens, a copy of the Greek/English version of their project description, and any other information related to their participation in 3 /// 3.
Artists retain full copyright of their proposed project.
