Art Commission - Live Art, Project Dandelion

10 Nov 2011

Project Dandelion is a public art project, introduced in 2011 that enables new art commissions and projects to take place across the BSF (Building Schools for the Future) programme in Wolverhampton. The art commissions and projects they are delivering are a result of school engagement, new architecture and new opportunities for transformation and learning. Their work is ambitious, inspirational and innovative and promotes high quality art and artists working in schools with young people.

They are currently seeking submissions from live and performance artists based in the UK for a commission called Banquet.

Fee: £6,000 (including all materials, expenses and presentation of final performance)

Performance Date: Spring Term 2012

Banquet is an exciting opportunity for a live artist to work at Highfields Science Specialist School, Wolverhampton to develop and present a performance based on the theme of ‘banquet’. The commission is aimed at artists who:

  • work in live art and experimental performance;
  • have an interest in exploring the relationship between food and art;
  • can present work in a school setting for an audience made up of students, teachers, parents and the wider school community;
  • have knowledge, skills and experience of creating costume for performance.
