Submissions Wanted for International Secrets Project

1 Oct 2007

Opportunity for young multi-ethnic artists to participate in a UK exhibition that will tour to Amman, Jordan, in May 2008.
There is no artist fee, but there is a materials grant of 225 euro per person. 2 artists from Liverpool, Belfast, Derry, Glasgow and Cork will be selected. The venue for the project is to be decided, and some artists will have to travel. All expenses will be paid for.

The Secrets project will explore global, personal secrets through the medium of art forms, and artists will create art installations inside a tea chest.
Their work will be shown in a public space that the general public can share.

Artists will have access to a website, and Hani Alqam, curator/artist and founding director of Amman-based arts foundation Dofla will act as mentor, meeting with the emerging artists twice.

Artists will be selected by the end of September 2007, and work will be shipped to Amman in January 2008.
