The GIA has organised a series of practice related events hosted by the Lighthouse in Glasgow commencing on the 2nd November 2011.

Their first guest speaker is Neil Kelly, managing director of MacRoberts, one of Scotland`s leading law firms. Neil will present a question & answer session on legal matters that should concern all architects. Registration is 5.30 pm with the seminar commencing at 6pm finishing at 7.15pm and concluding with complimentary wine & nibbles.
Price: £15 (£20 for non RIAS members) or you can take out a season ticket at £50 (£75 for non RIAS members) for all 6 seminars.

Their second event is on the 10th November 2011 where their guest speaker is Robin Thng past partner with the Holmes partnership and now a widely sought after presenter with Shirlaws. His subject is Creating opportunities in your business – now ! This one off seminar is a half day event with registration at 1.30pm commencing at 2pm & concluding at 5pm.
This one off event costs £30 (£35 non RIAS members) which includes tea/ coffee & biscuits. Book early as
places are limited.

Their third pre-christmas event is on the 30 November 2011 and forms part of the 6 event series of seminars. Registration is 5.30 commencing at 6pm with all other details as the first seminar. Their guest speaker will be Rob Campbell past partner with Campbell & Morris Associates and now a consultant with Wylie Shanks architects. His subject will be job costing & fee bidding.

Their first new years event will be held on the 9th February 2012 with arrangements as before. Their guest speaker will be Russel Wardrop an architect and past lecturer who now heads the highly successful kissing with
confidence
. His subject will be networking & presentation skills.

Their fourth event will be held on the 22nd March 2012. The subject will be an update on the Scottish buildings standards regulations.

Their fifth event will be held on the 19th April 2012. The subject will be an update on RIAS practice services.

Their final event will be held on the 24th May 2012. The subject will be The design manager – how we operate.
