Schloss Bröllin What Are You
In the lead up to our new Season on Temporary Projects (Spring / Summer 2010) Par+RS has commissioned Glasgow-based Israeli-born artist Shelly Nadashi to produce a series of new public performances.
Shelly is currently working at Schloss Bröllin, a residency for the production and presentation of performance pieces, which is based in an old farm, two hours east of Berlin and close to the Polish border.
In this blog she will post short videos that describe her personal travelling impressions, as she develops a new puppetry work for Glasgow international and devises and presents her public projects for PAR+RS. The PAR+RS commissions will be fully presented in a Reflections item on the site during the Temporary Projects season.
Shelly was selected by PAR+RS for our first commission of new work, after a recent spoken word performance Ambush in Wedding, which was performed at SWG3 in Glasgow. We felt that the work was a complicated exploration of the relationships between public and private histories and spaces, and hinged around a powerful autobiographical re-telling of an urban public landscape. Shelly will present an extract from Ambush in Wedding at Schloss Bröllin on March 20th.
