This was a development project designed to conclude with proposals intergrating artistic vision and artworks into the new Portree High School. The project was not taken forward by Highland Council because of significant ambiguities in the artists selection process.

Consultation & Commissioning Process

The mechanisms for initial consultations between artist, architects, community groups etc were all in evidence through steering groups and educational workshop proposals.

The commissioning process was fraught with difficulties. The procedural importance of proper consultation regarding the artist brief, selection criteria and members of selection panels is highlighted in this project.
