A centre-piece sculpture was commissioned bringing a significant artistic focus to the park and demonstrating opportunities for artists to engage with communities and the city as a whole. The project also involved arts and education outreach workshops within the community through a partnership with John Wheatley College, the Glasgow School of Art, artists and educators.

Consultation & Commissioning Process

The Arts is Magic is a community based organisation with charitable status, dedicated to providing quality Arts and Education opportunities for people of all ages and abilities in an integrated environment. Events and workshops took place linking schools, community, further education and higher education through the public art process.

Limited competition selecting 3 artists with a judging panel representative of project partnerships, artist community and local community.
