The Glenburn Public Art Project (also known as “Changing Glenburn Park”) was devised as an artist-in-residence programme supporting the work of Karla Black over a period of six months. During that time Karla worked with various community groups in the research and development of a series of designs for a piece of of contemporary public art. This collaboration involved residents travelling with Karla to visit the gardens of Mount Stuart, Culzean Castle and Little Sparta

Consultation & Commissioning Process
Central to this project is a partnership between Greater Easterhouse Arts Company (GEAC), Easthall Housing Co-operative and Easthall Residents Association and the artist Karla Black. Through this partnership and an attention to education workshops and collaborative research visits, consultation has taken place regarding the artistic vision and the processes involved in realising public art.
The selection process for this project was in the form of an advertised open invitation. Ten proposals were received from which the selection committee shortlisted four. Following interview the artist Karla Black was offered the residency.
The selection panel were representative of the partner organisations with an artist invited onto the panel also.
