Consultation & Commissioning Process
Prior to this proposal there had been a community consultation programme about the streetscaping project, and public art included within this. For a two week period ICP converted one of its rooms into a viewing / display room for the public consultation exercise.
A long list of potential lead artists’ was drawn up and then shortlisted by a panel including representatives of ICP, Hi-Arts, Scottish Sculpture Workshop, local community and facilitated by the Public Art Officer. This led to artists being invited to submit an expression of interest.
The artist’s brief included the requirement to involve a number of consultative approaches to develop relationships and awareness with a variety of sectors.
